ChargeNet NZ operates two rapid charging points at the New World supermarket in Mosgiel. Each charger can deliver up to 50 kW peak power and offers both CCS (Type 2) and CHAdeMO connectors. The station is currently operational. This is one of the few options for EV charging in Mosgiel.
A 50 kW charger adds about 20 miles of range per 10 minutes of charging, depending on the vehicle. This makes it suitable for quick top-ups while you shop or for drivers needing a moderate charge en route. It's not fast enough for a rapid transit stop for most EVs, but it will add substantial range in under an hour.
