Distance is the great-circle line between the two towns multiplied by a 1.25x road factor, time uses a 100 km/h motorway average, and stops are spaced by the range you pick. The chargers are real: every DC site in our data that sits within about 12 km of the line, ordered along the route and ranked by power. Turn-by-turn road routing comes later.
